Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train dietary staff to provide high-quality food service.
- Prepare and maintain employee work schedules.
- Monitor attendance, professionalism, and proper appearance of staff.
- Oversee food distribution, ensuring proper portion sizes and tray presentation.
- Ensure timely meal delivery and pick-up for residents.
- Maintain food quality, including correct temperatures and appealing presentation.
- Assist with food preparation and service when necessary.
- Visit resident areas weekly to evaluate satisfaction and service standards.
- Enforce infection control and sanitation procedures in all food service areas.
- Oversee the safe use and maintenance of kitchen equipment; report issues promptly.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a 90-hour course in food, nutrition, and personnel management in food service (or equivalent).
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
- Knowledge of infection control standards and safe food handling practices.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
