About the role

The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Food Service Journey at the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) located in Anchorage, Alaska.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the direction of a prisoner work crew who will prepare and serve meals for approximately 950 prisoners three times daily at the Anchorage Correctional Center (ACC).
  • Fulfills the mission of ensuring public safety through secure confinement, reformative programs, and supervised community reintegration.
  • Leverages the expertise of DOC professionals to foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Provides tailored training, hands-on coaching, and mentorship to empower subordinates to enhance their skills and achieve their full potential.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of planning, growing, and harvesting of food for consumption using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Knowledge of preparing and serving food for consumption.
  • Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
