Food Service Support (26-27)

Who we are:

Alpha Public Schools is a public charter school network of four schools educating approximately 1,900 scholars in east San Jose. What you’ll do:

• Student Lunch set up/take down, including removing food from warmers and refrigerators, proper placement of food items on serving table, and taking food temperatures
• Mealtime processing: making sure students punch in their correct pin codes and that all students who take a lunch are accounted for
• Ensuring students take a compliant lunch: including one entrée, one fruit or vegetable, and one beverage
• Notifying other staff when issues arrive (student behavior issues, missing pin codes, students not cleaning tables properly, etc.)
• Collecting trash from student tables, and ensuring trash is placed in dumpsters
• Cleaning cafeteria daily at the end of the shift: sweeping/dusting floors, ensuring tables are clean, trash is out, and everything is put away

You possess:

• A current Food Handler’s Permit (Alpha will cover costs if needed)
• Collaborative: Engage and work closely with fellow staff members and demonstrate strong communication and relationship building with students, families, and colleagues
• Committed: Demonstrate a desire and commitment to working with children
• DRIVEN: Have a strong sense of personal responsibility
• FLEXIBLE: Adapt to meet the needs of students and a startup work environment
• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
