Food Service Coordinator /Cook

Columbia Cottage in Collegeville, PA is looking to hire a Food Service Coordinator / Cook to prepare meals for our assisted living community.

About the role

As a Food Service Coordinator / Cook, you are vital to the mission of our assisted living community. The delicious and wholesome food you prepare helps our residents feel cared for and supported. Every shift, you arrive on time and immediately get to work preparing the upcoming meal for 40-50 residents. You carefully prep the food, follow the recipe, and assemble it in a pleasing manner. After serving the meal, you interact with residents and clean the kitchen, leaving it spotless and orderly for the next meal's prep.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for 40-50 residents in an assisted living community
• Follow recipes and assemble food in a pleasing manner
• Interact with residents while serving meals
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• ServSafe certification is preferred
• Previous cooking experience for large groups; catering experience is a plus
• Reliable, dedicated, and self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• Ability to work well under limited supervision and self-initiate tasks
• Commitment to working every other weekend

Pay

Competitive wage starting at $20/hour, depending on experience and education.

Schedule

• Part-time, with shifts varying between 8- and 12-hour shifts
• 8-hour shifts typically run 6 AM - 2:30 PM or 10 AM - 6:30 PM
• 12-hour shifts run 6 AM - 6:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
