Food Service Assistant - South Food Services - Day Shift - Full Time

The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high‑quality food for patients, staff, and other customers. In the hospital setting nutrition is crucial to the healing process, and the Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patients’ recovery through food preparation and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform food preparation and delivery with high standards of quality and sanitation.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Serve food to patients, staff, and visitors.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation duties.
• Maintain attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Requirements

• Education: None required.
• Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

• Basic reading and writing skills and able to do simple math.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to follow directions and work as a team player.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to move quickly.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 40 hours.

Work shift: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm, day shift.
