Food Service Assistant, Long Term Care (LTC) PT Evenings

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for certain duties including, but not limited to, preparing and serving resident meals, monitoring and recording proper temperature of food, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and other related responsibilities.
Duties
- Prepares and serves resident meals
- Maintains residents' dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of personal information
- Clears tables, sanitizes equipment and tables; other cleaning duties as assigned in the dining area and in kitchen/work area
- Interacts with elderly residents and assists in making sure they have a pleasant dining experience
- Observes, measures and documents food and fluid intakes as assigned
- Receives and shares information; observes and reports any resident change in condition to management
- Uses EMR (electronic medical record) accurately
- Checks equipment before use and notifies management or maintenance staff of any issues
- Operates dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely
- Maintains residents’ dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of personal information
- Provides residents with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans
- Follows location infection control policies and procedures, OSHA, and FDA, and CMS guidelines that apply to serving food, assisting residents, and cleaning
Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money and knowledge of food service preferred
- Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to perform basic math
- On-the-job training will be provided
