About the role

As a Food Service Assistant, you will perform routine duties related to preparation and serving of food in both the cafeteria for visitors and staff, and in patient rooms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various food items.
• Operate dishwasher or assist with washing and sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, and pans.
• Clean kitchen work areas, collect, and dispose of garbage.
• Assist with food stocking.
• Work on patient tray assembly line following menu directives for determining food items for each tray.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Work in the dish room when needed.
