About the Role

Food Safety Specialists support hotel, restaurant, and grocery clients in upholding brand standards, ensuring exceptional food quality, and delivering friendly, customer‑focused service to enhance the overall guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments that measure conformity to regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards.
  • Observe food preparation and cooking standards to ensure food safety, health, and sanitation practices.
  • Partner with clients to address root causes of assessment discrepancies and develop corrective‑action plans.
  • Teach and coach clients on creating a safer and healthier workplace for themselves and their customers.
  • Travel 50%‑70% (8‑10 days per month), including some evenings and weekends.

Essential Job Duties

  • Conduct audits and inspections.
  • Implement and monitor food‑safety programs.
  • Train and educate staff.
  • Investigate food‑safety incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain documentation and records.
  • Influence others with tact and skill.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback in a positive manner.
  • Thrive in an autonomous working environment.
  • Work a flexible schedule and prioritize tasks based on urgency and efficiency.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of food safety (preferred).

Requirements

  • Meet the requirements to obtain a CP‑FS certification.
  • Available to work Monday‑Friday, Saturdays, and evenings as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license from state of residence.
  • Licenses/certificates required by federal, state, or local regulations (covered by the employer).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety (preferred).
  • ServSafe and/or CP‑FS certification(s) a plus.
  • Excellent listening, organization, communication, and time‑management skills.
