Food Safety Coordinator
Job Responsibilities
Conducts training for team members regarding Food Safety and Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) to ensure compliance with FDA rules and regulations.
Maintains and monitors the facility’s food safety program, applying Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) and HACCP principles to ensure compliance with FDA and customer requirements.
Conducts routine sanitation and warehousing (GWP) inspections, documents corrective actions, and reports findings to the General Manager.
Oversees allergen control, product segregation, and cross-contact prevention practices within the facility.
Administers the facility’s pest control program and maintains related service records and documentation.
Serves as the facility’s SQF practitioner under the SQF Storage & Distribution Code.
Applies SQF (Storage & Distribution), HACCP, Good Warehousing Practices (GWP), AIB, FDA, and other industry standards and methods to support excellent service to company clients and external customers.
Collects data and compiles reports that reflect food safety trends and identify potential problems.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to instill a culture of food safety throughout the organization.
Supports the General Manager in implementing food safety policies, programs, and initiatives at the facility.
Performs required administrative duties based on business needs.
Maintains a master cleaning schedule for the facility and works to ensure the schedule is being followed.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed by Holman.
Skills & Abilities
- Educational Background: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Experience: Three (3) years previous work experience in a warehouse environment, including at least one (1) year in a progressively complex food safety role.
- Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills.
- Certificates & Licenses: AIB, HACCP, SQF, or other food safety certifications preferred, or the ability to obtain.

- Sanitation Awareness – Ability to identify sanitation risks and enforce cleaning and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work is performed in both office and warehouse environments, with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and material-handling equipment.
- Must be able to walk warehouse floors for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
