Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., overtime as necessary or required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation, improvement, and promotion of food safety and food quality systems to maintain compliance with regulations as well as Company, customer, and certification standards.
- Assist in ensuring employees follow all food safety, legal, quality, and process control policies and regulations.
- Actively manage the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) program, ensuring robust investigation of non-conformance and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Communicate with customers to provide information, feedback, and/or resolution to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Analyze and document circumstances regarding non-compliant products.
- Other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Three years of Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Must have knowledge of industry standards, FSMA, and GMPs.
- Current or previous certifications as PCQI, HACCP Coordinator, and/or GFSI Practitioner.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Self-driven, goal-focused professional who sets specific targets, plans for progress, and continuously monitors performance to achieve long-term goals.
- Able to interpret highly technical requirements and documents.
- Working knowledge of lab methodologies.
- Independent thinker with keen analytical, above-average math, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Willing and able to twist, turn, bend, and kneel as needed to complete job duties.
- Willing and able to climb to various levels in the facility using stairs, ladders, and elevated platforms.
- Able to perform close visual work on computers, determine detail, and distinguish colors.
- Willing and able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or commensurate education/experience.
