About the role

Join our team as a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Supervisor and take the lead in protecting the integrity of our products and processes. In this role, you will champion food safety excellence by driving the development and execution of sanitation and food safety programs that meet regulatory, company, and customer expectations. You will monitor daily plant practices, verify compliance, and use data-driven insights to identify trends and address potential risks early, helping ensure a strong culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement across operations.

Schedule

Sunday through Thursday, 10:30pm-8:00am

Responsibilities

  • Develop programs and procedures to ensure regulatory and company food safety requirements are met and maintained.
  • Communicate and train all associates prior to implementation of new programs.
  • Update, manage, and maintain the SSOP, HACCP, and other prerequisite programs in an organized and effective manner.
  • Audit all SSOP and HACCP records, providing timely feedback to management.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the USDA and stay current with regulations concerning SSOP and HACCP programs.
  • Train and document training for all levels of plant associates concerning SSOP and HACCP programs.
  • Provide hands-on involvement in resolving food safety problems during the shift, developing appropriate solutions and corrective/preventative measures.
  • Conduct validations of scientific data supporting facility food safety decisions as needed yearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Operations Management, Biology, or Chemistry.
  • 1–3 years of experience.
  • HACCP certification and knowledge of USDA regulations, including GMP, SSOP, HACCP, and labeling.
  • Experience with food safety plant-style audits.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and SSOP requirements, including monitoring and implementing validation processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask while maintaining required timeliness.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft computer software.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional movement to other offices or buildings.
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
  • In a plant environment, exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28°F to 100°F with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle products from 25°F to 50°F.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 dB to 110 dB.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processing facilities.
  • May need to climb ladders.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
