About the Role
The food runner’s primary responsibility is to assist servers by cleaning tables, keeping side stations clean and well stocked, and helping the kitchen expedite the service process to maintain smooth flow throughout the dining room.
Responsibilities
- Assist food servers and bus person with cleaning and resetting tables
- Perform all side-work duties and maintain restaurant cleanliness within health-code standards
- Describe menu items accurately using proper verbiage and answer any menu questions, including specials, beverage, and wine menus
- Set up and replenish side stations with dishes, glassware, silverware, ice, dry goods, paper products, juices, cut fruits, and garnishes throughout the shift
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas during the shift
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations pertaining to health, safety, and labor requirements
- Notify management of maintenance or repair issues
- Complete other job-related duties as requested by management
Requirements
- Minimum six months of related experience
- Able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests regarding position duties
- Flexible and adaptable to change

Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
- Ability to walk distances
- Ability to lift 30 to 40 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, use of hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and tasting or smelling
- Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Work in a hectic, fast-paced, and often crowded and noisy casino environment
- May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors, including excessive noise and constant exposure to the general public
