Food Runner/Busser- Temporary- Salty's at the Sea- Seattle Airport

Responsibilities

• Help maintain safety in the kitchen by clearing spills promptly.
• Keep the wash area clean and organized.
• Deliver food to guests in a timely manner adhering to all company standards.
• Perform cleaning duties, including but not limited to mopping and removing trash.
• Follow safe food‑handling and proper hygiene practices.
• Adhere to workplace safety standards for operating and maintaining equipment and report any equipment malfunction to management immediately.
• Coordinate the delivery of all food items within appropriate time standards.
• Ensure every food item is accounted for.
• Follow management’s instructions and suggestions.
• Support superior guest service by performing duties such as placing weekly food orders and transferring products from storage to units.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English, including understanding instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively communicate information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations with customers and co‑workers.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning ability: apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand continuously (100%) and walk (approximately 50%); stand during a 6‑8 hour shift.
• Use hands for lifting and carrying up to 60 lb, with occasional lifts of 60‑lb cases several times per shift and the ability to carry up one flight of stairs.
• Frequent reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, shaking, stirring, and wiping.
• Frequent immersion of hands in hot water (approximately every 5 minutes).
• Must be able to hear well amidst loud background noise.

Work Environment

The work environment includes typical kitchen and food‑service conditions, with exposure to loud background noise, hot water, and the need for frequent movement and manual handling. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
