Job Purpose
A food runner is responsible for delivering the food from the kitchen to a customer in a restaurant. They are responsible for ensuring that each customer receives the correct order.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly and outgoing demeanor and accommodate any special needs or guest requests.
- Running food orders throughout restaurant.
- Stocks glassware, flatware and napkins in all areas necessary on a continual basis.
- Taking full bus trays to the dish area and replacing empty bus trays in the service stations.
- Sort dishes at the dish area to help expedite cleaning.
- Empty dining room trash cans as needed.
- Perform side work before, during and after shift as has ended.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area/station.
- Aid other team members and management as needed.
- Aid in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Present professional demeanor in attire, language and attitude.
- Must purchase and wear appropriate uniform.
All Other Duties as Assigned
Qualification Requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, presentation and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Pleasant and accommodating personality with continuous and outgoing demeanor.
- Communicate with management regarding guest questions and/or comments.
Education And/or Experience Requirements
- Restaurant experience preferred.
