Food Production Assistant - Clemson Football Facility - Clemson Football Operations

About the role

The Food Production Assistant is responsible for incoming product, maintaining inventory and quality control. They are responsible for reviewing the weekly and special event menus to ensure all products have been pulled for prep. This person is also responsible for maintaining all storage areas in accordance with the facility protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting products, accurately labeling items and reporting any discrepancies in reconciliation of deliveries and invoices.
• Organizing and storing all incoming products in assigned locations, applying FIFO (first in, first out) inventory controls for perishable products.
• Following all Standard Operating Procedures to meet accuracy and production standards.
• Accurately completing administrative duties including records such as vendor receiving logs, inventory count documents, temperature and spoilage logs, equipment inspections, and any other relevant business records (on paper or in a technology-based system such as hand-held device or PC).
• Implementing all location safety policies, OSHA requirements, SDS standards, and emergency procedures.
• Using all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Maintaining all storage areas, keeping areas clean and products on shelves organized.
• Taking appropriate measures to ensure the security of client and company assets.
• Developing new skills and performing additional duties as assigned to meet commitments (job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice).

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of previous food service inventory experience preferred.
• Food safety certification a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
• Able to lift up to 50 lb frequently and/or carry objects weighing up to 80 lb.
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
• May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
