About the role
The Food Prep is a team member of the Back of House, responsible for superior customer satisfaction through accurate and efficient food preparation. This role reports to the Shift Leader and General Manager, and is expected to model company culture and uphold the highest standards in guest experience, food quality, service, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Deliver superior consistency through efficient, accurate, and properly prepped food completed to company standards
- Continuously test all food products for taste, appearance, and consistency to ensure company standards are followed
- Clean and maintain the kitchen regularly, including proper timely maintenance on all machines and equipment
- Maintain superior knowledge of the entire food menu, including ingredients, modifications, and cook times
- Become familiar with new menu items and their preparation and cook times
- Support the Back of House team by ensuring prep is completed, coolers are stocked, equipment is clean, and ready for service at all times with a friendly, positive attitude
- Accurate and consistent use of Prep Board
- Complete position Primary and Secondary Responsibilities as well as Daily Duties at a superior level
- Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume periods or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and set positive examples
- Assist with par/inventory/ordering of food supply
- Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
- Maintain accurate temperatures on all cooling equipment, maintain waste sheet and temp logs
- Maintain kitchen to high standard and follow sanitation guidelines compliant with Health Department and company standards
- Perform work of other team members as needed
- Keep company passwords and intellectual property confidential
- Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and present professional conduct and appearance at all times
- Use, implement, and adhere to all company policies, procedures, systems, and processes
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- High school graduate preferred
- 1 year of food preparation and/or kitchen experience
- Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow established protocol and recipes
- Dependable, honest, trustworthy, with integrity
- Positive attitude and great personal drive
- Courteous and enthusiastic
- Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced sales environment
- Exceptional communication skills
- Basic math skills and computer skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently preferred
- Successful completion of Team Member Training Program
- Successful completion of Kitchen Training Program
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of company's products and procedures
- Availability to work on weekends
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to speak and write in English preferred
- Must maintain professional dress, speech, and behavior at all times
Schedule
Sunday – Saturday, 10:00am to 10:00pm, with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours in length. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
