About the role

The Club is located alongside various shops and restaurants within Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It is a fast-paced, fun work environment that is growing in style and amenities. This is a full-time Food Prep Associate position; shifts are subject to change based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food for the Lounge while maintaining a clean and healthy environment for customers.
  • Perform standard food-service tasks, including sanitation duties and serving responsibilities.
  • Clean, portion, cut, peel, or disjoint various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Prepare a variety of foods according to customers’ orders or instructions of a supervisor, following approved procedures.
  • Portion and arrange food on serving dishes, trays, carts, or conveyor belts.
  • Clean, cut, slice, or disjoint meats and poultry to prepare for cooking.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
  • Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas.
  • Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
  • Set up and restock the buffet area.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Requisition, store, and distribute food supplies, equipment, and utensils.
  • Date and label prepared food.
  • Complete food-safety logs.
  • Wash dishes.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass an airport-authority security background check.
  • High-school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Related background in customer service or restaurant/bar service.
  • Must be at least 18 or 21 years of age as applicable by law.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and possess verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with customers, passengers, and co-workers.
  • Able to work rotating shifts including weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Essential job functions

  • Cooperate with peers, customers, and supervisors of diverse backgrounds who may hold divergent views.
  • Pass and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications, including local health-department food-handler certification.
  • Stand during the entire scheduled shift (up to ten hours).
  • Handle the stress of a fast-paced work shift.
  • Read and interpret basic documents and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and group settings to passengers, customers, and other team members.
  • Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers and make change on a Point-of-Sale machine.
  • Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Bend, climb, crouch, hear, kneel, reach, speak, stand, turn, twist, and walk.
  • Lift 40 pounds 40 inches high without assistance.
  • Push and/or pull 120 pounds with the assistance of a wheeled cart.
  • Perform tasks safely according to established procedures to prevent personal injury, injury to others, and damage to the environment, facilities, and equipment.
  • Follow all lawful safety, health, and liquor rules and regulations.
  • Maintain personal appearance and grooming that present a favorable corporate and customer image.
  • Pass and obtain security background check and clearance to work in an airport environment.
  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
