Primary Responsibilities
- Safe operation and knowledge of work environment equipment (butter cutter, butter melter, tote dump, mix tank) and recipes.
- Properly and thoroughly clean and sanitize the immediate work area and totes.
- Successful and accurate completion of all required paperwork and touch screen processes.
- Build a team environment within the immediate work area and throughout the SGFM organization.
- Work with weights and measurements to include doing measurement conversions.
- Run totes of finished mixes to the kettles.
- Follow safety regulations and procedures required by SGFM/Quality/SQF/GMP’s/OSHA regulations/Preventative Controls.
- Follow instructions and goals set by their supervisor.
Requirements
- Necessary to Perform This Job Function:
- A high school diploma or GED preferred.
- Frequent lifting of material up to and including 70 pounds as well as pushing and/or pulling materials more than 400 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch.
- Pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility.
- Ability to read and write English fluently.
- Basic mathematic and reading skills.
- Regularly required to talk, hear and see.
- Able to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.
- Able to work in both hot/humid (in excess of 110 degrees F) and cold (below -20 degrees F) environments.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility.
- Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
- OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height.
- Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.
- Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
- VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
- HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
