Food Pantry Specialist - Bilingual (Spanish)

A nonprofit organization in New Jersey is seeking a Spanish-speaking to join their team as a Food Pantry Specialist.About the Opportunity:Schedule: Monday to Friday, with one Saturday per monthHours: 8:30am to 4:30pm; one Saturday per month from 7:00am-1:30pmSetting: On-siteResponsibilities:Support food pantry and mobile pantry distribution activities in varying weather conditionsAssist with operational tasks, including unloading deliveries, organizing inventory, and stocking and restocking suppliesProvide client support through intake, appointment scheduling, phone follow-up, and resource referralsOrient, train, and oversee volunteers during pantry operations and eventsMaintain accurate records, reporting, intake files, signature logs, and computer-based documentationQualifications:High School Diploma / GEDBilingual or multilingual skills, including English and SpanishExperience working in retail, a food store, or a food pantryExperience working with diverse client populations, community organizations, vendors, and staff at all levelsKnowledge of Chromebook, Gmail, and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skillsDesired Skills:Understanding of systemic inequality and food justice conceptsExperience prioritizing tasks while managing a retail or pantry floorFamiliarity with community-based service environments
