Food Operations Manager 3

About the role

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur, a 295-bed long-term care and rehab facility on Manhattan's Lower East Side, featuring decentralized dining and convenient access to public transportation. This is a highly visible leadership role overseeing daily food operations and approximately 45 union employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site food service operations and deliver consistent, high-quality service outcomes
• Drive operational performance, safety compliance, financial results, and long-term client success through hands-on leadership and strategic execution
• Manage people, set direction, and deploy resources
• Handle performance evaluation, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions
• Influence and negotiate with parts of the organization to achieve results through the work of others
• Manage high-volume dining operations with ownership of financial and performance outcomes
• Champion sustainability initiatives and culinary standards that elevate the dining experience
• Build trusted client partnerships while delivering on contractual commitments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3 years of management experience
• 3 years of related experience
• Experience leading, training, and developing on-site food service teams
• Knowledge of HACCP standards, regulatory requirements, and high-volume dining environments
• Hospitality-focused approach centered on service quality and guest experience
• Experience developing and executing operational and strategic plans aligned with client objectives
• Creative mindset supporting culinary innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement
• Must have union and long-term care management experience, with a focus on resident dining, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance

Pay

$89,250 per year - $115,500 per year
