Food Lab Assistant (Regular Part-Time)
Position Details
This position is responsible to prepare food labs, monitor and maintain equipment and inventory, and to oversee work study students under faculty supervision.
- Maintain and administer food labs and provide instructional support to the hospitality programs.
- Maintain accurate monitoring controls of inventory and equipment.
- Ensure security of the lab and equipment during assigned work hours.
- Absorb day-to-day tasks of assigned work study students.
- Accurately maintain records and submit reports as required.
- Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional development and cross training opportunities.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in departmental meetings, various committees and professional organizations as required.
- Perform additional grade level duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in related field required.
- Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards in current and prior positions.
- The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:
- PA Child History clearance
- PA Criminal Record Check clearance
- FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Food service experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Constantly incurred: Use of depth perception, use of color vision.
- Frequently incurred: Ability to stand, walk, & sit, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to carry & push, reaching at high or low level, ability to repeatedly bend, repetitive finger movement, ability to use both hands & legs, ability to communicate orally & to hear conversation, repetitive twisting or pressure involving wrists or hands.
- Occasionally incurred: Ability to pull, ability to kneel, ability to crawl, ability to climb stairs, ability to use legs/arms to climb, ability to balance, ability to stoop.

Salary
$19.02/hour
