About the role
The Bucks County Courier Times, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a food and dining reporter.
Responsibilities
- Tell the stories of folks with big dreams and new kitchens and innovative menus
- Contribute to USA TODAY's award-winning restaurant-focused coverage
- Roundups, profiles and rankings
- Dig into the high-end spots and keep us up to date on openings and closings big and small
- Contribute grocery-focused consumer content
- Produce quick videos and feature videos
- Be in front of the camera to bring stories and content to life on social platforms
- Own the food and dining scene
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a reporter/writer
- Proven experience with content management systems and social media channels
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Driver’s license and a car
Qualifications
- Strong writing skills and a command of grammar and style
- Curiosity about everything to do with the food and dining scene
- Experience with social media as a tool to build audience and as a source for beat development
- Experience with and interest in multimedia, including video and podcasting
- A self-starter who owns the beat yet works collaboratively with others locally and regionally to meet common goals
- A journalist committed to values of fairness, diversity, inclusion and professionalism
