About the role
To work collaboratively to manage our branded business products within the East Coast region. This is a remote/home-based position located in the mid-Atlantic or East Coast, requiring up to 50% travel.
Responsibilities
- Liaise and coordinate between licensees/growers, retailers, and marketing agencies to ensure correct promotional plans and development of branded business in target markets after validation by the Brand Manager.
- Identify and establish local partners such as licensees and growers to collaboratively deliver growth of the branded business in a specific area.
- Report on key local market conditions and retailer information.
- Lead and participate in wider food chain projects as necessary.
- Work with the Brand Manager and local marketing agency to progress into new markets for branded business when required.
- Update key licensee activity regularly to coordinate and support branded business product growth in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Manage the launch of new items in retail.
- Report sales, market, and retailer trends.
- Assist with business development and innovation strategies.
Requirements
- Detailed knowledge of retail landscape, main players, and supply routes.
- Good level of agronomic knowledge.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, and sell new ideas to potential partners with conviction.
- Good command of local language and English; bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
- Strong people skills, including communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and ability to make subjective decisions.
- Ability to interact with people from all cultures and work under strict time constraints.
- Emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, and honesty.
- Knowledge of fast-moving developments in the sales field and seed industry.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of fresh market vegetable production, wholesale vegetable exchanges, and cool chain.
- Retail/produce experience is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate college degree in marketing, business administration, crop science, or agriculture, or equivalent training and experience.
Working Conditions
- Home-based position located in the mid-Atlantic or East Coast region.
- Up to 40% travel required, including attending meetings across the region and Europe.
- Ability to work long and/or irregular hours.
- Must be able to travel for long periods throughout the year.
- Ability to work under different weather conditions, including temperature extremes and dusty environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds when necessary.
