Food & Beverage Team Leader
Starting pay range: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour. Full pay range: $26.00 – $44.20 per hour. Pay is based on labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process, and efficiency, leading food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, and pricing.
This role provides meaningful experiences to build and develop skills for a career, including:

- Food & Beverage business fundamentals, such as sales trends, freshness, food safety, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, and pricing strategies
- Planning daily/weekly workload to support priorities and deliver sales goals
- Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, training, coaching, evaluating, and developing talent
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience. Train and hold team members accountable for guest experience and operational consistency.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve performance, and align the team on execution.
- Plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals, including merchandising, pricing, and promotions.
- Lead a guest-focused, efficient Food & Beverage team by completing the Daily Standards walk and assessing backroom and sales floor areas.
- Prioritize business needs, assign tasks based on workload and guest traffic, and validate team members’ progress.
- Lead and demonstrate best practices, closing skill gaps through coaching, training, and team interactions.
- Conduct team huddles to communicate focuses, trends, and HQ updates.
- Maintain partnerships with vendors to ensure brand standards, stock reliability, and clear expectations.
- Place store-initiated orders to ensure product availability and stay updated on trends to educate team members.
- Support hiring and onboarding of new team members.
- Assist with guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive-up (DU) while maintaining compliance.
- Become a subject matter expert in federal, state, and local adult beverage laws (if applicable).
- Maintain Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards and foster partnerships with district managers (if applicable).
- Complete all required training or certifications, including Food Safety Manager Certification.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. Lead team safety by modeling safe behaviors, correcting hazards, and reporting incidents.
- Support merchandise protection strategies and physical security processes.
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities during assigned shifts.
- Address all store emergency and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail and/or food experience preferred but not required.
- Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Effective communication skills using multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload and prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish tasks within timeframes.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders if needed.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without assistance.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work in refrigeration, freezer temperatures, and environments with common allergens.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements during shifts.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts (shift length may vary).
