About the role

The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They lead food and food services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, and pricing processes.

This role provides skills and experience in:

  • Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first, freshness culture
  • Food & Beverage business fundamentals (sales trends, freshness, food safety, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotions)
  • Planning daily/weekly workload to support priorities and sales goals
  • Leading a team (interviewing, training, coaching, evaluating, and developing talent)

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience. Train and hold team members accountable for guest experience standards.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve execution, and celebrate wins.
  • Plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals, including merchandising, pricing, and promotions.
  • Lead a guest-focused, efficient Food & Beverage team by completing the Food & Beverage Daily Standards walk.
  • Assess backroom and sales floor areas daily, prioritize business needs, and assign tasks based on workload and guest traffic.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable. Communicate and collaborate with store leadership.
  • Maintain a fresh, fully stocked, and food-safe area during operating hours using strong inventory management and food safety policies.
  • Validate team members’ progress on assigned tasks and routines, providing coaching and training to close skill gaps.
  • Lead team huddles to communicate focuses, trends, and store reporting.
  • Develop and maintain vendor partnerships to ensure clear expectations, brand standards, and in-stock reliability.
  • Place store-initiated orders to ensure product availability and stay updated on relevant trends and products.
  • Support hiring and onboarding of new team members.
  • Assist with guest services (e.g., back-up cashier, order pick-up, Drive-up) while maintaining compliance.
  • Become a subject matter expert in federal, state, and local adult beverage laws (if applicable) to protect the store’s liquor license.
  • Lead team adherence to Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards (if applicable) and complete required training or certifications.
  • Foster a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, modeling and recognizing safe behaviors.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices, creating equitable experiences, and being authentic and respectful.
  • Follow all safe and secure training processes as a key carrier.
  • Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities during assigned shifts as needed.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail and/or food experience preferred but not required
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable
  • Proficiency in using multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Effective communication skills
  • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately
  • Handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders if needed
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without assistance
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work in refrigerated/freezer environments and handle common allergens
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts (shift length may vary)
