Responsibilities
- Coordinates and oversees the planning and execution of all beverage services within the Food & Beverage department
- Assist in strategically planning for events utilizing historic records or similar event trends
- Coach and maintain sanitation, alcohol awareness, and service standards
- Supervision of bartenders, watching for overpouring, quality control, and bar safety
- Adheres to and monitors sanitation practices relative to Catering functions including Beverage Production and holding, dating and labeling, etc.
- Responsible for leading small teams during event preparation and production in addition to training and leading bartenders for setup and events
- Responsible for creation of beverage-related signage, including specialty cocktails or other specialty beverages
- Supports and prepares for Retail Concessions Events including opening, closing, and supervising Concessions stands when necessary
- Supports the creation of custom beverages and specialty cocktails and will create signage and other beverage merchandising
- Will assist with ordering for beverage supplies for events, including mixers, garnish, and alcohol
- Set up and execution of concessions, bar, and Catering outlets
- Aid in maintaining budgetary labor and product cost parameters
- Aid in conducting monthly inventories of catering, concessions, and bar supplies
- Aid in the planning and execution of catered events to include supervising Servers and Runners
- Attend weekly and monthly designated Food and Beverage Planning Meetings as needed
- Supervise staff in a manner consistent with OVG Human Resources Policies and Procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of retail sales and food service operations required
- Bartending and banquet service skills
- Ability to pass the ServeSafe food and beverage handling course
- Ability to supervise staff in multiple locations within the building during events
- Ability to set up, program, and operate a point of sale system
- Good math skills necessary to perform production and inventory calculations
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel & Publisher
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Frequent reaching and handling of products
- Ability to access information and print on computer/terminal monitor
- Daily lifting of heavy objects
- Ability to operate a forklift
