About the Role

This position assists in ensuring the restaurant, lounge, and room service operates effectively at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport hotel in Herndon, VA. You will supervise assigned staff and departments in the hotel’s F&B outlet, Marty's Bar & Grille, located in a stunning six-story atrium and open for breakfast and dinner 7 days a week. The role focuses on driving revenue, maximizing profit, ensuring quality, and adhering to health regulations and local liquor laws while delivering exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Service: Supervise the Food and Beverage team to ensure service standards are met and guest needs are addressed promptly. Resolve guest complaints courteously and focus on service recovery. Train and model appropriate guest service standards.
  • Financial Expectations: Utilize proper selling techniques and strategies to maximize F&B revenues. Drive sales and up-sell to increase revenue. Follow financial procedures for cash handling and transactions. Adhere to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Safety/Risk Management: Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company, brand, local, state, and federal regulations. Follow procedures for guest and team member incidents. Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Self/Workload Management: Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required volume. Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication. Promote a collaborative and professional work environment. Attend department/hotel meetings and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • 12 months of experience in a role requiring skills similar to a Restaurant/Food and Beverage Supervisor.
  • Prior experience in guest relations.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, customer-focused, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

$21 - $21 an hour. The actual base pay offered is determined by variables such as qualifications, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications. Base pay is one component of the total compensation package, which also includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and bonus plans.
