About the Role

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the venue. This role involves overseeing managerial, full-time, and part-time positions, ensuring compliance with labor laws, sanitation ordinances, and alcohol service regulations. The Food & Beverage Manager will supervise, coach, train, and mentor employees while managing all aspects of employee relations to foster a positive and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the overall effective management of catering, concessions, premium, and beverage/bar operations.
  • Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies and monitors alcohol service during events.
  • Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to Spectra management immediately.
  • Manages catered events from set-up to tear-down, including communication with hourly staff, culinary staff, and guests.
  • Ensures legal, efficient, professional, and profitable operation of the venue.
  • Generates and reviews financial reports, including budgets, projections, revenue analysis, labor and product costs, wage and salary control, and P&L financial statements.
  • Handles conflict resolution, mediation, arbitration, and labor negotiations when applicable.
  • Authors, reviews, and amends policies, procedures, and contracts as directed by the General Manager.
  • Oversees scheduling, labor allocation, and staffing needs based on ticket sales and market demographics.
  • Evaluates historical sales and purchasing data to identify patterns and accurately cost goods.
  • Programs and maintains the point-of-sale system for accurate financial reporting and inventory tracking.
  • Prepares and attains team goals, providing direction and follow-up on assignments.
  • Inspects operations regularly to maintain established quality standards.
  • Prepares and submits required reports accurately and on time.
  • Develops and leads an effective team, evaluating performance and recommending improvements.
  • Assists in the development of menus and marketing plans with department heads.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with show managers, suppliers, vendors, and the public to project the venue positively.

Requirements

  • BA or BS with a business-related major; accounting minor or credits preferred.
  • 3-5 years of management experience in the food-related or concessions industry.
  • Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification.
  • Valid Food Handler's certificate and Alcohol Service Permit if required by state or local government.
  • Strong communication skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions quickly and under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory cost control and menu planning.
  • Thorough knowledge of sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, and safety standards.
  • Ability to perform basic and complex math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Pay

Annual salary of $52,000–$60,000.
