Every day brings new challenges—from crafting signature cocktail programs to leading beverage service for large-scale galas—across multiple restaurants, bars, outdoor venues, and one of San Diego's premier convention resorts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of multiple beverage outlets, bars, and lounges.
  • Inspire, coach, and develop bartenders, servers, and supervisors to deliver exceptional hospitality.
  • Create memorable beverage experiences through innovative cocktail menus, seasonal features, and premium spirit, beer, and wine programs.
  • Partner with culinary leadership to develop food and beverage pairings and promotions.
  • Maintain beverage cost controls through inventory management, purchasing, and waste reduction.
  • Monitor labor productivity while ensuring outstanding service standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal alcohol regulations, including responsible beverage service.
  • Analyze sales trends and identify opportunities to grow revenue and profitability.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Events to create exciting beverage activations and resort experiences.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness, safety, and operational standards throughout all beverage operations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of progressive Food & Beverage management experience with significant beverage leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience managing high-volume resort, hotel, restaurant, or entertainment venue beverage programs.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktail development, and current industry trends.
  • Experience with beverage inventory systems, ordering, and cost management.
  • Proven leadership skills with a passion for coaching and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive during high-volume periods while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, push and pull up to 40 lbs, and stand/walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience opening new beverage concepts or redesigning cocktail programs.
  • Background in banquet and convention beverage operations.
  • Experience working in a luxury resort or destination hospitality environment.
