Food Bank Coordinator
About the role
A Food Bank Coordinator contributes to AHF by supporting the day-to-day operations of the DC Food Bank, ensuring people living with HIV/AIDS receive access to nutritious, appropriate food as part of their care plan. The role enhances AHF’s reputation by delivering high-quality, client-focused food assistance with compassion and care, promoting food access, client retention in care, and improved health outcomes.
The Coordinator will work as part of a close-knit team to prepare and deliver food to eligible clients, assist with SmartChoice ordering, collect and report impact data, and ensure grant-related requirements are met. They will collaborate with the Food Bank Manager and licensed nutritionists to support menu planning and respond to client needs.
Responsibilities
- Verify client eligibility in CareWare.
- Assist clients with their SmartChoice food selections.
- Prepare food orders for pick-up or home delivery.
- Coordinate the timely and respectful delivery of food orders.
- Ensure timely service, accurate data entry, and adherence to guidelines set by licensed nutrition professionals.
- Support menu planning and respond to client needs in collaboration with the Food Bank Manager and licensed nutritionists.
- Maintain a supportive and health-focused food assistance program for people living with HIV/AIDS.
- Collect and report impact data to meet performance objectives and program deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with grant-related requirements.
