About the role

The Food and Beverage Manager position is available at Convene Hospitality Group's One Boston Place location. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily service operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the culinary service, ensuring it follows The Program Execution Order
  • Supervise and manage the service team, including setup, utilities, maintenance, and security coordination
  • Coordinate between the culinary and service teams, reviewing menus and services with both teams
  • Enforce all rules and regulations, including safety and emergency programs, and monitor beverage consumption
  • Maintain service cleanliness in front and back of the site, and ensure positive overall client satisfaction
  • Interact with guests and associates courteously, empathetically, and discreetly, adhering to hygiene procedures and grooming standards
  • Perform opening and closing inspection duties, and be flexible to work long hours as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 or more years of progressive experience in a conference center or a related field
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Strong knowledge of service standards and different service types
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, and liquor laws and regulations
  • Ability to carry out ongoing training of service specialists to maintain standards of service
  • Manage opening and/or closing inspection duties
  • Maintain service cleanliness in front and back of the site
  • Ensure positive overall client satisfaction
  • Ability to interact with guests and/or associates in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner
  • Adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards
  • Flexible and willing to work long hours as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

$65,000 - $70,000 annually
