Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee FOIA litigation processes, including coordinating responses to litigation requests and tracking ongoing cases
- Review and analyze case files, legal documents, and records to ensure compliance with FOIA regulations
- Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation related to FOIA requests and litigation
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, to prepare for litigation and manage case strategies
- Conduct research on FOIA precedents, policies, and best practices to inform case strategy and decision-making
- Maintain accurate records of litigation activities and outcomes, reporting on metrics and case statuses as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, public administration, information management, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience full time in FOIA litigation or related legal analysis roles
- Strong understanding of FOIA regulations, litigation processes, and relevant case law
- Experience in drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Proficient in legal research tools and case management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly
- Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
