Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Food & Nutrition Services Associate at our facility, you will have the opportunity to be both a nutrition professional and a caregiver, providing delicious and nutritious meals for patients, staff, and others when they need it most. You will be joining a hard-working and compassionate team that is so vital for the day-to-day functions of our hospital.
In this role:
- Prepare various foods and beverages for patients.
- Always prepare and portion foods following established guidelines, recipes, and production sheets.
- Cover, label, and date foods and store them properly according to procedures.
- Follow proper food handling techniques (gloves, handwashing, hair covering, no eating on the job, etc.).
- Always prepare and set up food and supplies in sufficient quantity to cover service requirements.
- Restock as needed.
- Always check daily menu needs and complete advance preparation for the next day.
- Help to reduce cost by minimizing waste and over production.
- Promptly report food shortages, outdated items or any products received in an unacceptable condition.
Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification.
- Food service, hospital diet office, and cash register experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must be 18 years of age.
