We are seeking a Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Assistant to join our Food Services team. The position involves performing a variety of food services for patients, as well as cleaning and dish‑room duties and other related cleaning tasks. You will work in a collaborative, family‑like team environment.
The hospital is a 558‑bed acute‑care facility in Atlantis, Palm Beach County, near Lake Worth and Boynton Beach, with multiple specialties and off‑site ERs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare various foods and beverages for patients, following established guidelines, recipes, and production sheets.
- Cover, label, and date foods and store them properly according to procedures.
- Follow proper food‑handling techniques (gloves, handwashing, hair covering, no eating on the job, etc.).
- Prepare and set up food and supplies in sufficient quantity to meet service requirements; restock as needed.
- Check daily menu needs and complete advance preparation for the next day.
- Help reduce cost by minimizing waste and over‑production; utilize leftovers appropriately.
- Promptly report food shortages, outdated items, or any products received in unacceptable condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Some kitchen experience is desirable.
