Fluid Systems & Propulsion Engineer I – Early Career (2026 Starts)
About the role
Blue Origin is seeking multiple positions across our Business Units. You will be matched with an appropriate engineering team based on your skillset and experience and our current business needs.
Responsibilities
- Projects may include many aspects of applied fluid/mechanical engineering including design, analysis, and test of fluid components and systems, propulsion systems, and mechanical systems.
- The projects will involve the integration of materials and processes, manufacturing, systems test, operations, and systems engineering.
- Specific duties are subject to our business unit objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or other relevant engineering field, earned within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.
- Strong fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis.
- Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience demonstrating development of both technical skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset.
- Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
Desired
- M.S. degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering or other relevant engineering field.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: GD&T (ASME Y14.5), 3D CAD Programs, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), low-pressure fluid systems, thermodynamics, fluid flow, or heat transfer analysis, safety assessment, and operation of pressurized test hardware.
- Machining, building, and maintaining pressurized or mechanical systems.

Pay
Base Pay Range For CA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85
WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85
