Aerospace Systems Engineer I – Early Career (2026 Starts)

About the role

As an Aerospace Systems Engineer at Blue Origin, you will design and engineer the overall systems infrastructure, including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. You will work with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
• Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
• Decomposes internal customer requirements and requests into test system requirements specifications, including bi-directional traceability.
• Develops & manages interfaces through requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and drawings.
• Leads and presents at major gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) on system overall technical readiness and status of Systems Engineering deliverables.
• Owns the verification and validation planning, traceability, and completion through test plan creation and completion of Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field, earned within the last year and able to start by Fall 2026.
• Experience with Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering on complex systems.
• Briefly describe your experience breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks and concisely communicating project status.
• Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience demonstrating development of both technical skills and leadership qualities.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
• A flexible and adaptable mindset.
• A self-driven approach with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction.
• Desired M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area.
• Experience with requirements development/management tools such as Jama.
• Experience with systems engineering modeling tools, such as Rhapsody or Cameo.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
• Experience with Flight Dynamics.
• Previous customer-facing roles with experience presenting to and directly interacting with customers.

Pay Range

The base pay range for CO applicants is $74,537.00 - $104,351.10, and for WA applicants is $81,313.00 - $113,837.85. Other site ranges may differ.
