About the role

Work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through the safe and efficient operation and preservation of equipment used for aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF) tasks, including Aircraft De-Icing Trucks, Glycol Recovery Vehicles, and Processing/Distillation Equipment. Ensure the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by procedural handbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety manuals, operational plans, and management direction to ensure work is performed according to defined specifications and/or regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all government legislation related to labor, health, safety, regulations, and policies.
  • Preserve the Company’s reputation through professional and cooperative interactions with external stakeholders, including the airport authority, security personnel, and the public.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections using appropriate checklists and forms.
  • Perform and maintain records of light maintenance tasks on equipment; immediately report any repair requirements.
  • Regularly and proactively inspect, maintain, and monitor equipment to ensure optimum efficiency; report all issues and inconsistencies to the on-duty lead and/or manager.
  • Complete all associated paperwork and logging books accurately.
  • Work cooperatively with all team members and external stakeholders involved in assigned duties.
  • Use all required personal protective equipment appropriate for specific tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free workplace at all times.
  • Make suggestions to management for efficiency improvements.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as requested by the on-duty lead and/or manager.
  • Perform general labor duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, 2nd shift (afternoons), and 3rd shift (overnights) as required.
  • Able to successfully test for and receive an Airport Badge.
  • Successful completion of all classroom and on-the-job training.
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations.
  • Ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle in inclement weather.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft and their performance.
  • General mechanical competence and ability to effectively use hand tools.
  • Driving record that meets Company insurance standards.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, good-natured attitude.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Work Environment

  • Continuous use of a computer, keyboard, data entry, and record keeping.
  • Warehouse: physically strenuous, prolonged standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures, and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment.
  • Outdoor: prolonged standing with exposure to prevalent weather, dust, dirt, fuel, fumes, and noise, in or around heavy equipment and moving vehicles.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting and standing for extended periods, as well as bending, kneeling, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • May be necessary to work at heights up to 40+ feet.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
