About the role

Operate and maintain fluid filling and packaging equipment in a sanitary environment to produce quality dairy and beverage products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fluid filling equipment at a proficient level, filling products into gallon, half-gallon, and single-serve containers including milk, eggnog, fruit drinks, juices, teas, and water.
  • Clean and maintain the filling room environment, ensuring sanitary conditions for packaging fluid products.
  • Operate CIP (Clean-In-Place) and COP (Clean-Out-of-Place) systems, as well as floor cleaning and scrubbing equipment.
  • Disassemble and reassemble fluid fillers and associated equipment for thorough cleaning.
  • Perform manual and hand cleaning of casers, labelers, conveyors, fillers, filler parts, stackers, walls, drains, empty case conveyors, control panels, and any equipment involved in packaging.
  • Operate and maintain equipment in the fluid packaging area, including labelers, conveyors, fillers, casers, and stackers.
  • Maintain accurate written production records.
  • Perform laboratory tests and monitor weight control of products.
  • Produce a quality product that meets Publix and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Must demonstrate safe working habits and excellent safety practices.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and demonstrate abilities.
  • Ability to obtain a license and operate a forklift.
  • Must have basic computer skills, including Man Machine Interface (MMI) and data entry.
  • Must be able to climb ladders to clean conveyors.
  • Must be able to learn and perform all positions in the packaging area.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have good human relations skills and be a team player.
  • Must be able to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas.
  • Must be able to perform steady and productive work for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
  • Must show a commitment to Publix and its mission.

  • Previous manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

Work includes operating moving equipment in a noisy environment, requiring hearing protection. Personal protective equipment is required when using sanitation chemicals and equipment.
