Flow Form Operator
Responsibilities
- Interpret setup sheets and engineering drawings to safely assemble and install arbors, spindles, mandrels, and rollers.
- Program, edit, and operate CNC flow-forming machine to reduce metal thickness, reshape products, and achieve required metallurgical and dimensional properties.
- Upload programs to control panels and verify settings.
- Perform in-process and final part inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
- Clean, maintain, and replace machine tooling and dies as needed.
- Fill lubricants and coolants to ensure proper machine health.
- Monitor machine cycles and mill operations to detect jamming, breakage, or defects, making necessary speed and feed adjustments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of production and quality assurance activities.
- Use a forklift for material handling within the shop.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and resolve issues promptly.
- Measure materials to ensure compatibility with available stock for machining.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and geometry.
- Shop math proficiency is required.
- Knowledge of metal properties and other materials.
- Knowledge of inspection tools and their proper use.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive movements, and safely lift or maneuver heavy raw materials and finished parts (typically up to 50 lbs.).
- Familiarity with safety protocols and practices.
- Forklift or overhead crane certification, a plus.
Schedule
1st shift (7am – 3:30pm)
2nd shift (3:30pm – 12am +10% shift differential)
