Floor Technician

About the role

Newport News Behavioral Health Center offers hope and healing through intensive residential and acute treatment for males and females ages 8-21, using a cognitive behavioral treatment model in a safe, therapeutic environment. As a Floor Technician, you will maintain clean and orderly buildings, performing heavy cleaning duties and special or quarterly tasks as assigned.

Schedule

6AM–2:30PM (rotational weekends)

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents or other chemicals to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least one year of related experience.
