Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations
• Oversee sales floor staff
• Monitor staff performance
• Conduct annual check-ins with floor staff
• Motivate staff
• Identify tasks, problem solve, and delegate
• Provide proactive, personalized, convenient and competent customer service
• Manage customer requests, comments, and complaints
• Oversee stock on floor
• Ensure maintenance of store’s visual appeal and cleanliness
• Create and coordinate staff schedules (weekly shifts, daily breaks, and lunches)
• Open and/or close the store
• Implement store policies as designated by management
• Cook up with management in all sales floor position hiring processes
• Conduct sales floor position hiring
• Conduct new staff training
• Stay abreast of publishing trends to support management and booksellers
• Learn and stay abreast of applicable labor laws and retail health and safety standards
• Lead by example

Requirements

• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Experience in leading a group of people
• Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Good record keeping
• Comfortable with tech and proficient with spreadsheet and word processing software

Job Type

• Full-time (40hrs/week), morning shifts, weekend day(s) required

Pay

• From $24.00 per hour
