About the role

The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident and family experience through the provision of the nursing care and leadership required to ensure the health and well-being of residents who depend on Grand Living for assistance.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and administering medications to residents who have orders from an attending physician to be admitted for Assisted Living care per state regulations.
• Ensuring the evaluation and clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel, assisted living aides, and medication aides through participation in orientation, education, teaching, and supervision of staff via frequent rounding.
• Performing all interactions in The Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner to achieve a high level of Resident and team member satisfaction.
• Working under the general guidance of the Director of Health and Wellness in accordance with Community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing (required)
• Three or more years’ nursing experience (preferred)
• Assisted living or home health care experience (preferred)
• Must be a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in the state of employment (required)
• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to educate, train, and supervise staff; meet with residents and their families to facilitate assessments and develop personalized care plans; utilize and train others on operational software for care documentation and record keeping; and communicate effectively with other employees
• Knowledgeable of resident rights and ensures an atmosphere allowing privacy, dignity, and well‑being of all residents in a safe, secure environment
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods
• Ability to lift or carry up to thirty (30) pounds
