About the role

Personal Bankers at UMB are experts at building customer relationships and recommending and selling products and services. They use their product knowledge and every interaction to identify needs and offer financial solutions to help customers secure their financial well-being while making banking easy.

Responsibilities

  • Asking personalized questions to convert every customer interaction into an opportunity to learn more about their financial goals and connect them to solutions that will meet their needs
  • Individually creating and managing a successful loan pipeline with strong closing conversions by focusing time and efforts on prospecting and cross-selling home equity loans and lines of credit, unsecured personal loans, auto loans and mortgage referrals

  • Challenging your daily key performance metrics to elevate personal goals, while balancing competing priorities and providing the unparalleled customer experience
  • Working closely with UMB leaders, learning from their mentorship and expertise
  • Using your expert product knowledge and conversation skills to build upon your customers' needs and make a true difference in their financial lives
  • Communicating in a compelling manner, projecting a positive image, and enjoying solving problems and creating positive outcomes
  • Enjoying coaching others as a sales mentor

Requirements

  • Have a HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Have two years of retail banking sales experience or other relevant experience
  • Have reliable transportation and ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings
  • Have the ability to obtain a NMLS registration within 90 days
  • Have the ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately
  • Have basic math skills and ability to problem solve while operating within established risk parameters/tolerances
  • Have demonstrated ability to make personal connections, engage and educate customers, ask open-ended questions, and listen to establish trust and build lasting relationships
  • Have strong business development capabilities for proactively growing your own personal book of business by successfully using campaign offers, prospecting leads, service-to-sales conversations as well as leveraging centers of influence for referrals
  • Thrive in a high-energy, sales-driven team, and leverage daily coaching and feedback to polish your sales outcomes

Pay

Targeted compensation for this opening. The posted salary range reflects the broadest standard range for this role, including all locations. The anticipated compensation for this specific opening is $21-22/hr. Compensation Ranges US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York $41,060 - $59,760 US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin $37,490 - $54,700 US Employees in all other states not listed above $33,920 - $49,650 The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and what it expects to be the starting pay for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
