Responsibilities

  • Protect the physical and mental health and safety of children.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences in various subjects.
  • Support screenings, assessments, and evaluations of children’s developmental levels.
  • Engage parents and family members in their child’s development and program services.
  • Follow safety guidelines and report any suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Participate in staff development and complete required training.
  • Support classroom activities and assist with transitions between activities.
  • Maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
  • Communicate child observations to teachers and coordinate with professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required, obtainable within 6 months.
  • Previous early childcare experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

Skills

  • Positive adult-child interactions as measured by the CLASS Pre-K instrument.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
  • Emotional control and professional composure.
  • Knowledge of Innovative Network of Knowledge policies and procedures.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
