Responsibilities
- Protect the physical and mental health and safety of children.
- Implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences in various subjects.
- Support screenings, assessments, and evaluations of children’s developmental levels.
- Engage parents and family members in their child’s development and program services.
- Follow safety guidelines and report any suspected child abuse or neglect.
- Participate in staff development and complete required training.
- Support classroom activities and assist with transitions between activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
- Communicate child observations to teachers and coordinate with professionals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required, obtainable within 6 months.
- Previous early childcare experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
Skills
- Positive adult-child interactions as measured by the CLASS Pre-K instrument.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
- Emotional control and professional composure.
- Knowledge of Innovative Network of Knowledge policies and procedures.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.
