Float Pool Nurse responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication, and maintaining a safe environment. Responsibilities
- Assessing patient needs
- Implementing physician orders
- Administering medications
- Changing dressings
- Monitoring vital signs
- Documenting patient conditions
- Educating patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Overseeing daily activities as acting charge nurse
- Assigning staff based on patient acuity and skills
- Serving as a clinical resource
- Responding promptly to requests and issues
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse from an accredited program
- Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- ICU experience preferred
