Float Custodian

About the role

Join the Nawa family as a Float Custodian in the Fruitport area. This part‑time, school‑setting position starts immediately and offers paid training. The role involves providing coverage and support across multiple school sites, ideal for someone who enjoys a change of pace and can adapt to different locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties at multiple locations as assigned
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and common areas
• Restock supplies as needed
• Operate cleaning equipment (training provided)
• Communicate regularly with supervisors
• Other cleaning tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and valid auto insurance
• Ability to travel between job sites during the shift
• Pass a motor vehicle records check
• Pass a federal background check and drug screening (including THC)
• Submit fingerprints for school‑work authorization
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards
• Strong communication and reliability
• Previous cleaning or custodial experience preferred

Pay

$17 per hour

Schedule

• Full‑time opening Monday–Friday, primarily second shift
• Flexibility required, including occasional weekends for school event setup and teardown
• During school breaks, the schedule may transition to first shift
