Flight Paramedic - Childress, TX
About the role
The position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. Immediate hiring is available.
Responsibilities
- Completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
- Daily base checks including narcotic count
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility
- Maintain thorough patient care documentation
- Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
- Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual
- Use and maintain all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Function as a medical flight member
- Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefing and complete necessary documentation
- Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and provide pilot assistance when needed
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
- Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting required
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status
- Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) required within 24 months from date of hire
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
