About the role
The Flight Paramedic is responsible for providing advanced life support care during air transportation, ensuring patient safety and effective care from initial contact to transfer at medical facilities. They work as part of a professional, safety-focused team, assisting with pre-mission briefings, aircraft safety, and maintaining documentation.
Responsibilities
- Complete and submit electronic patient care records promptly.
- Perform daily base checks and narcotic counts.
- Deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care.
- Maintain competency through ongoing training and certification updates.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
- Participate in pre-mission briefings and debriefings, assist with aircraft safety, and fill open shifts as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years’ experience in 911 or critical care settings.
- Current EMT-P license in the assigned area.
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; FP-C certification within 24 months.
- Preferred instructor certifications and NREMT-P in some areas.
