Flexo Press Assistant (M-Th, 6am-4pm)

About the role

Ensure paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) are loaded into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running. Make adjustments to equipment such as feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper. Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation. Recycle old/discarded plates. Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation. Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates, and recycling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the plates.

Responsibilities

• Load paper or raw materials (inks, glues, etc.) into feeders, hoppers, bins, etc. to maintain a constant flow of materials during equipment operation
• Adjust equipment such as feeder mechanisms based on paper size
• Deliver equipment components (plates, spray heads) for installation
• Recycle old or discarded plates
• Assist in making equipment ready for operation
• Retrieve, hang, recycle, and store plates as part of the make-ready process

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned through on-the-job training
• Ability to follow instructions to assist in press setup, operation, and maintenance
• Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers, and hydraulic feed mechanisms

Pay

The salary range for this role is $16.50 - $22.00 per hour. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, total compensation may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
