Specific Responsibilities And Essential Functions
- Captures technical specifications for new products, including film selection, template design, ink selection, etc.
- Participates in customer meetings to discuss new products, processes, and manufacturing issues.
- Deep understanding of the production shrink process, including proper adjustments and setups for different containers and shrink styles.
- Operates equipment in the PE Conversion/Digital printing area to support developmental needs.
- Creates and applies bettering procedures to analyze internal manufacturing and quality processes.
- Supports sales in new product development activities.
- Assists production with resolving and understanding technical issues, especially during first-time runs of inks, films, glues, machinery, etc., until process stability and understanding is achieved.
- Daily support of the Shrink Label Conversion Department, addressing production issues, implementing new customer needs, and managing industry developments.
- Builds strong relationships with the Conversion Manager, Assistant Manager, Supervisors, Engineers, and production employees, focusing on quality product output and maintaining trust and respect for union employees.
- Works closely with new/current suppliers to develop innovative ideas, materials, and processes.
- Improves sustainability measures within the plant and for customer packaging, aligning with customer goals and set dates.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering preferred.
- At least five years of comparable experience in various aspects of shrink label design and manufacturing.
